[ He leans down to scoop Childe up in his arms and set him on top his shoulders, the disappointment of only having one tail quickly overshadowed by the fact he now has acquired one warm fluffy scarf. Which he is currently nuzzling into. ]

I suppose it would have been very troublesome if you had so many when you are so small.

[ childe nestles against his neck to become a fox boa! fluffing up and nuzzling against zhongli's cheek with a pleased little prrrt! ] I can't believe I have just the one! but... it would be a lot. Prrrrobably ridiculous if I changed into any other animal... [ so maybe it's for the best. ]

[ And he smooths out Childe's tail before taking another pocky stick and offering it to his furry boa. ]

Shall we retreat inside then? Unless you wish to cuddle out here in the gardens.

[childeishly]

[ om nom. ]

[ takes the pocky stick. ]

Let’s head inside. My room or your room?

[ He is about to say his room when an idea pops into his head. ]

Might I take you somewhere else? Though still inside.

Neither… [ tilts his head, but then his ears shoot up and he smiles. ] Of course, Xiansheng. [ pecks his cheek. ]

[ He makes his way over to the hotel garage then - weaving in and out of the aisles before he finds stopping before a classic and well kept motorcycle in blacks and golds.

As he mounts it, he reaches up to pluck Childe from around his neck: ]

I think it would be safer if you were in my lap for the journey.

[childeishly]

… [ stares down the motorcycle. ] Xiansheng? Did you buy this? [ tries to reach for the bike. ] Ah, sure, I don’t mind being in your lap!

And I researched it thoroughly to find one that was classic and aesthetically pleasing as well as durable, easy to handle and fuel efficient.

[ He is free to reach for anything with his tiny paws as he is settled in Zhongli's lap. Zhongli will not stop him. ]

Ah! I can't believe that you have a bike before me! But it's so nice. [ bats at one of the hand grips. ] It definitely suits you, Xiansheng.

I'm sure I will. I get to sit in your lap, remember! [ fluffs up and presses back against zhongli, tilting his head to stare at him as they drive. ]

[ Zhongli can't help but gently pet Childe for a few for moments before kicking off and speeding down the road. Certainly not at D.Va speeds, but he was once a young hotblooded fool, too.

Some things never leave you.

As they get farther out, Childe will probably notice that they are headed to that long stretch of beach that Zhongli took him before. ]

[childeishly]

[ nuzzles up against his hand and purrs, LOUDLY. he settles down once zhongli speeds off, looking left and right and… oh! beach. ]

It’s the beach!

Yes. And I'd like to take a stroll with you later - but there is something else I would like to show you first.

[ And he parks at the lighthouse that looms over the east side of the beach. ]

Of course, Xiansheng. It’s two of my favorite things… er, three, perhaps. You, the beach, and spending time with you.

[ once the bark is parked he climbs back up to zhongli’s shoulder. ] Would you like me to change back?

I'll leave that up to you.

[ And he reaches up to scritch behind Childe's ears. ]

I am confident I would be able to spoil you in both forms.

[childeishly]

I think that sounds like a challenge! [ his ears twitch and he shuts his eyes to purr. ] I'll stay like this just a little bit longer. [ so zhongli can inevitably spoil him in both forms. a true win-win for him! ]

[ Zhongli pulls the fox from his shoulder then and moves to carefully cradle him in his arms, fingers gently petting the fur on his back. ]

It is not a challenge. It is a simple statement of fact.

What kind of companion would I be if I could not adapt to every facet of you?

[childeishly]

[ squirms around in his arms... but only until he manages to turn onto his back, so zhongli can pet his belly. ] Xiansheng... [ grabs at his hand with his paws. ] I doubt I make it easy but you manage to do so with relative ease and I'm thankful for that.

[ He lets Childe grab his hand, fingers stroking the fur of his belly where they are allowed to reach. ]

As always, you are very harsh on yourself.

Loving you comes naturally as breathing air or drinking water. You ask for nothing but the ability to follow your heart's desire and my honesty.

All of your other traits are simply endearing additions to that.

Xiansheng! that's... that's no fair... [ he's feeling attacked right now! but... in the best way ♥. ] But that's real sweet of you. It's not hard to act like everything's fine. I'm used to that. But beyond that... [ only a few people have seen him even kind of sort of vulnerable. ] Thank you. [ leans over to kiss him. ]
